In this scenario, we will communicate with CyberArk Conjur using REST API calls.

Cool! You have learnt how to communicate with CyberArk Conjur using REST API

Step 1 of 4

Install Conjur

Let's set up the environment

We will use curl as the HTTPS client to communicate with CyberArk Conjur using REST API calls.

To verify, we can display its usage by curl --help

We will install a Conjur OSS environment as the server. It will take a few moments.

wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/QuincyChengAtWork/katacoda-scenarios/master/conjur-rest-api-v5/assets/setupConjur.sh
wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/QuincyChengAtWork/katacoda-scenarios/master/conjur-rest-api-v5/assets/showSettings.sh
chmod +x *.sh
source ./setupConjur.sh https://[[HOST_SUBDOMAIN]]-8080-[[KATACODA_HOST]].environments.katacoda.com/

In the end of the installation, an admin account will be created and the API key for admin will be displayed. For demo purpose, we will keep it in conjur_admin environment variable. In production, please keep it safe.
