Apache OpenWhisk on OpenShift

Apache OpenWhisk allows chaining of actions. We will now create a simple sequence of actions which will split, convert to uppercase, and sort a comma separated string. To highlight the flexibility of OpenWhisk, we will implement each step in a different language and seamlessly chain them together to construct the overall process.

Congratulations

In this scenario you learned how to create a sequence of chained actions using a different language for each action

Please take sometime to play with other related scenarios that are available to get yourself familiarized with various serverless concepts on OpenShift Cloud Functions. Good Luck!

Don’t stop now! The next scenario will only take about 10 minutes to complete.

Chained Actions on OCF

Step 1 of 5

Step 1

Create a package

Apache OpenWhisk supports the notion of packages to bundle together related Actions making it easier to manage and share related Actions. To start, we'll create a new a package for our Actions:

wsk -i package create sequence

We will use this package to group the Actions we are about to create in to one logical unit.

Next

With this out of the way, let's turn our attention to the actual Actions in our sequence.
