Step 1 of 6

Log in to your Astra account

You will be connecting to an Astra database as part of the hands-on work in this scenario. Please make sure that you have the following in JSON format:

  • clientName
  • clientId
  • clientSecret

This can be copied from your Manage Organization page in Astra.

If you do not have an Astra account, or need help retrieving the necessary information, you can expand the following section for more details.

Set up Astra Account If you don't have an Astra account, set one up - it's easy. Go to the Astra page in your browser: astra.datastax.com. Once you have created an account and logged in, select the databases drop-down at the top of the page, and then select Manage Organizations. Here, go to the Actions column for your organization and select Add Service Account. Confirm that you want to add a service account. Now from the Service Account column for your organization, click on the Copy icon that will copy the service account credentials to the clipboard. Paste the information somewhere safe, since that will contain all of the information you need.

Once you have the information ready, go ahead and input the information in the terminal on the right. Once you have gotten your access token, proceed to the next step.
